Adagio in G minor was actually composed by Remo Giazotto based on Albinoni's Sonata in G minor. A fragment of the Sonata was found admist the ruins of the Saxon State Library, Dresden, bombed by the Allies in World War II.[1]
While the piece was not actually written by Albinoni, it is commonly attributed to him.
It was played as a short jam before Time Is Running Out on the earlier half of the 2006 tour. This arrangement featured Bellamy's Kaoss Pad, with Wolstenholme playing single notes on bass, and no percussion.
This made its return when Matt got his doubleneck Manson guitar. Currently he plays this as in the intro to Resistance with the top neck. This can be seen in the footage of Resistance at Glastonbury 2010.
The piece is transposed to A minor, the key of Resistance, for live performances.
A short section of the second movement of Rachmaninov's piano concert № 2. The piano outro in "Neutron Star Collision" sounds very similar to the piano that is played beginning at :25 when the riff gets louder.
EDIT: Adagio Sostenuto means 'Sustained & At Ease' and is the tempo and name of many classical pieces, not just Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2. The piece played at the Seattle gig is indeed the piece played at the end of Neutron Star Collision, but is not taken from Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2. It is only similar in it's tempo and pace. The piece is pretty much written by Matthew Bellamy. (Not sure how to edit this into the boxes above)
Also dubbed by fans as "Osaka Jam" because of a soundcheck video played before an Osaka gig (Club Quattro 2004), this jam has a similar sound to the "Futurism" bassline. The first known play of an early version of this jam was on the 16th of May 2000. It was played during technical difficulties in the past. At the Royal Albert Hall 2008 TCT gig it was played whilst Matthew Bellamy returned from the organ after "Megalomania", who joined Wolstenholme and Howard for the last part of the jam.
Since Arena Monterrey 2008, it has appeared on set lists as "Bass Jam" or "Drum and Bass"[2] and appeared on set lists at most gigs in 2008.

During the jam, Chris stands on Dom's rising, spinning podium of the three-towered stage design.[3] For the 9th November gig at the SECC in Glasgow, Scotland, Chris and Dom were joined by a kilted bagpiper named Count Taylor who was standing on another of the podiums, playing an additional part. The Pro-Shot video of the performance was released by Muse as a Christmas Present.
Il Mercenario (L'Arena) is the main theme tune for the Sergio Corbucci Spaghetti Western, The Mercenary, composed by Ennio Morricone. It was played by Matt during the US leg of The Resistance tour in 2010 as an introduction to Time Is Running Out. It can be heard here from the Seattle KeyArena gig in 2010.
An instrumental jam making heavy use of the Kaoss Pad, played at a few gigs in 2006 and 2007. A newer Kaoss Jam was used at a number of festival gigs in 2010, introducing Supermassive Black Hole, and first debuting at Werchter.

A piano interlude occasionally played before "Sunburn" during Autumn 2006 such as at Nashville War Memorial Auditorium.
Comes from Bellamy's love of Twin Peaks. During the Autumn 2006 tour of U.S.A. Muse watched DVDs of Twin Peaks on the tour bus. It is around this time that Matt used the music of 'Laura Palmer's Theme' as a Piano Interlude played before Sunburn. The original can be heard here.

First rehearsed at the Milton Keynes Bowl before the stadium leg of The Resistance Tour, it was initially dubbed the MK Jam but is also referred to as the Wankdorf Jam due to its public debut in the Wankdorf Stadium Bern Stade de Suisse 2010 (gig). It's being played before Undisclosed Desires in a similar way that Helsinki Jam was being played. Only played by Dom and Chris. Has got a disco-ey, metallic beat and a smooth bassline.

Used occasionally during the Resistance tour in Canada as an outro riff to Plug In Baby and New Born. As said in an interview with Vancouver radio station The Fox 99.3, Matt said this was one of the first riffs he ever learned to play on the guitar.
